Cattleguard Removal/Repair Along East Rio Verde Drive

Project Description

The Maricopa County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) advises residents and drivers to plan ahead for temporary lane closures and possible delays in both directions along East Rio Verde Drive from North 144th Street to North 176th Street, beginning Monday, October 7th until Friday, October 25th, 2024 for the removal and fill-in of nine cattleguards in roadway approaches along East Rio Verde Drive, in North Scottsdale..

The nine cattleguards are located at North 144th Street, North 148th Street, North 150th Street, North 152nd Street, North 154th Street, North 156th Place, North 160th Street, North 169th Street, and North 176th Street. 

The project will include: 

  • Removal of cattleguard.  
  • Fill-in work with slurry and top with concrete.  
  • Installation of pavement markings.  
  • Other miscellaneous work and cleanup. 

The cattleguard removal project will help extend the life of the roadways as the land use in the area has changed. Access to properties will be maintained during construction, however there may be a delay while equipment passes driveways and roads. Crews will provide access to driveways and roads as quickly as possible. Please watch for work crews, obey all traffic control signs and slow down in the work zone.
