Project Description
The Maricopa County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will be performing pavement preservation work in the north Phoenix/Scottsdale area to extend the life of the roadway, renew the surface, seal cracks, and protect the road from UV rays. MCDOT advises drivers to plan ahead for temporary daytime lane closures and possible delays in both directions on roads undergoing construction. Flagging operations will be in place to help direct traffic while work is underway. Construction begins on Monday, April 20, and continues for four weeks until mid-May, 2026.
Crews will perform the pavement preservation work along:
- Westland Road betwen 48th Street and Cave Creek Road;
- Tanglewood Trail between the roadway's end and Smokehouse Trail;
- Mustang Circle;
- Smokehouse Trail between the roadway's end and Westland Road;
- Tumbleweed Circle;
- Sagebrush Circle;
- Asher Hills Drive between 40th and 44th streets;
- Ron Rico Road between 46th Street and 47th Place;
- 47th Place between Ron Rico Road and Desert Forest Trail;
- Desert Forest Trail between 46th and 48th streets;
- 46th Street between Ron Rico Road and Desert Forest Trail;
- 48th Street between Desert Forest Trail and Ocupado Drive;
- Lone Mountain Road between 68th and 64th streets;
- 60th Street between Lone Mountain and Montgomery roads;
- 59th Street between Lone Mountain Road and Wildcat Drive;
- Wildcat Drive between 58th and 60th streets;
- Lowden Court;
- Montgomery Road between 59th and 60th streets;
- Dixileta Drive between 56th and 66th streets;
- 56th Street between Montgomery Road and Dynamite Boulevard;
- 64th Street beween Dixileta Drive and Dynamite Boulevard;
- 53rd Street between Skinner Drive and Dynamite Boulevard;
- Dynamite Boulevard between 40th and 56th streets.
The project map will be updated to reflect current construction activity as work progresses
The project includes:
- Chip sealing the existing roadway.
- Striping work and pavement markings.
- Cleaning up the work zone and other miscellaneous work.
Please allow for extra time for travel as there can be delays during construction. Please watch for work crews, obey all traffic control signs and slow down in the work zone.
Schedule is subject to change for reasons beyond MCDOT’s control, including weather, equipment failure, illness or other circumstances.
