Chip Seal Preservation, Western Maricopa County

Project #: MH2603

Project Description

In order to extend the life of the roadway, renew the surface, seal cracks, and protect the road from UV rays, the Maricopa County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will be performing pavement preservation work in the Aguila area. MCDOT advises drivers to plan ahead for temporary, daytime lane closures and possible delays in both directions of roadways in the work zone. Flagging operations will be in place to help direct traffic during sealing operations. Work will take place beginning April 2 and run through mid-April.

The project includes:

  • Chip sealing the existing roadway.
  • Striping work and pavement markings.
  • Cleaning up the work zone and other miscellaneous work.

Please allow for extra time for travel as there can be delays while work is underway. Please watch for work crews, obey all traffic control signs and slow down in the work zone.
