Project Description

The Maricopa County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) is relocating the median at the White Tank Library entrance on White Tank Mountain Road just west of Olive Avenue to improve traffic flow for entrance to the library and park. Work began Monday, Feb. 9, 2026, and is expected to take approximately five weeks.

During construction, access to White Tank Mountain Regional Park will remain open at all times, though temporary lane restrictions may be in place at times in the work zone.

The project includes:

• Shifting the west end of the existing median to the east of the White Tank Library entrance by approximately 55 feet to the east to improve traffic flow for the entrance to the library and park.
• Applying new roadway markings.
• Completing minor work items and close-out tasks.

Work Schedule

• Where: White Tank Mountain Road west of Olive Avenue at the White Tank Mountain Library entrance.
• When: March 23 to late April 2026.
• Hours: Monday - Friday, 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• No weekend or holiday work is anticipated
