Camino del Sol near R.H. Johnson Boulevard

Project Description
The Maricopa County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) advises drivers and pedestrians to plan ahead for street and sidewalk restrictions during work at three locations on Camino del Sol, west of R.J. Johnson Boulevard in Sun City.
Please be advised the east entrance to Star Ridge Drive will close while work is underway at the intersection with Camino del Sol but the west entrance will remain open. Flaggers will be on-site to assist with traffic control during construction. Access to properties will be maintained at all times. Sidewalks at the three locations in the project area may be restricted at times during the project schedule.
The work will begin on Monday, Oct. 28, 2024, for ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) ramp repairs and drainage improvement and will be in place for approximately six weeks.
The purpose of this project is to improve drainage and alleviate the ponding on the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) ramp at 19200 N. Camino del Sol in Sun City West.
The project will include:
- Removal and replacement of pavement and ADA ramps at Sun Ridge, Copperstone and Prospect drives.
- Removal and replacement of sidewalks, curbs and gutters.
- Subgrade preparation and grading.
- Asphalt replacement, other miscellaneous work and cleanup.
Work Schedule
Where: Camino del Sol west of R.H. Johnson Boulevard in Sun City West.
When: Monday, Oct. 28, 2024, to mid-December 2024.
Work Hours: 6 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday-Friday. No weekend or holiday work is anticipated.
