Project #: MG2406
Project Description
The Maricopa County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) advises residents and drivers to plan ahead for temporary lane closures and possible delays in southwestern Maricopa County on weekdays, beginning Monday, May 19 until Friday, May 23, 2025 for repair work on a cattleguard along Rocky Point Road, approximately six miles south of Hyder Road, and Tuesday, May 27, 2025 until mid-June 2025 on three cattleguards along Agua Caliente Extension Road.
The cattleguards are located at:
- Agua Caliente Extension Road approximately 10 miles west of Old US 80, north and south of the Southern Pacific Railway;
- Agua Caliente Extension Road approximately 17 miles west of Old US 80 near 475th Avenue;
- Rocky Point Road, approximately 6 miles south of Hyder Road.
The project map will be updated to reflect current construction activity as work progresses
The project includes:
- Replacing the cattleguard.
- Repaving of roadway approaches.
- Completing minor work items and close out tasks.
This project will help extend the life of the roadways and correct uneven transitions caused by travel over the cattleguards. Access to properties will be maintained during construction, however there may be a delay while equipment passes driveways and roads. Crews will provide access to driveways and roads as quickly as possible. Please watch for work crews, obey all traffic control signs and slow down in the work zone
