Vulture Mountain Recreation Area Roads

Project #: TT0491

Project Description

The Maricopa County Department of Transportation (MCDOT), in cooperation with the Maricopa County Parks and Recreation Department and Bureau of Land Management (BLM), is underway with construction of Phase 1 of a multiphase project for the Vulture Mountains Recreational Area adjacent to Vulture Mine Road and south of Wickenburg.

This project will improve access to and amenities within the County Park, with roadway improvements on Vulture Mine Road and within the park grounds.

Phase 1 includes constructing two new bridges, realigning Vulture Mine Road near the park entrance, building new park entry stations and roadways, and installing utilities.

Please note: Several of the current staging areas, recreation areas and trails will be closed to hikers, equestrians, vehicles, and campers during construction.
