Old US 80 at Luke Wash Bridge

Project #: TT0748

Project Description

Channel protection project

Five-month closure of Luke Wash bridge at Old US 80 between 331st and 333rd avenues begins Monday, Jan. 6, 2025

Beginning at 7 a.m. Monday, Jan. 6, through 5 p.m. Sunday, May 25, 2025, the Maricopa County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will be closing a portion of Old US 80 over Luke Wash, between 331st and 333rd avenues, in Arlington, west of Buckeye, for about five months for bridge bank protection work

  • No travel will be allowed on the bridge and for 150 feet on either side of the closure. The closure will be in place at all hours.

The closure is needed while MCDOT crews repair damage to the west abutment of the bridge, caused by heavy rains in October 2022. At that time MCDOT completed emergency repairs. The goal of this project is to construct a permanent solution to realign the channel and prevent future channel migration and erosion. Detour signage will be in place to provide for alternate travel in the area.

Where: Old US 80, between 331st and 333rd avenues.

Hours: 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday. Some weekend and holiday work is anticipated.

Please watch for work crews, obey all traffic control signs and slow down in the work zone.
