Northern Avenue, Agua Fria River to 103rd Avenue

Project #: TT0600

Project Description

The Northern Parkway Corridor extends 12.5 miles between Loop 303 and US 60 (Grand Avenue). The area served by the corridor is one of the fastest growing regions in Maricopa County. Several sections along this route have been improved to accommodate traffic in the area. The latest project, Agua Fria River to 103rd Avenue (TT0600) is one of the last two segments going to construction. Project TT0372 (Northern Parkway: 103rd Ave to 91st Ave (Loop 101)) is anticipated to go to construction by early 2027. Both projects are at the east end of the overall Northern Parkway Corridor.

Construction on this segment of the Northern Parkway Corridor is expected to begin in late February 2026 and will continue for approximately 12 months, with completion anticipated in early 2027.

The project includes:

  • Rebuilding new roadway pavement
  • Adding right turn lanes and signal improvements at the intersection of Northern Avenue and 107th Avenue
  • Adding right turn lanes along Northern Avenue at unsignalized intersections
  • Constructing new sidewalks on both sides of the roadway, from 112th Avenue to 103rd Avenue, including new curb and gutter
  • Building Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant ramps
  • Installing roadway lighting
  • Installing new landscaping adjacent to both sides of the roadway
