Patton Road at 195th Avenue

Project #: TT0710

Project Description

Patton Road is the primary access road for the residential area west of the Wash 1 West crossing in the Wittmann area. The existing crossing is a dip section at the wash. During small frequent rainfall events, the two pipe culverts that traverse Patton Road fill with sediment and water ponds on the roadway and upstream of the wash crossing. As a result, MCDOT’s maintenance crew is required to temporarily close this portion of Patton Road to pump the water outside the roadway limits and remove the accumulated sediments. The temporary closures adversely affect the accessibility of the traveling public.

The purpose of this roadway project is to provide alternatives to alleviate the water ponding and sedimentation build-up on Patton Road at the Wash 1 West crossing. The objective is to provide a safe crossing of this wash and minimize roadway closures due to flooding.
