Project Description

The Maricopa County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) advises drivers to plan ahead for weekday lane closures and possible delays in both directions of a two-mile segment of Sun Valley Parkway, located approximately seven miles north of Tonopah Salome Highway, beginning Monday, April 14th through late June 2025, for a pavement preservation project.

The project includes:

  • Removing and replacing pavement with new asphalt.
  • Applying new roadway striping to the roadway surface.
  • Other miscellaneous work and cleanup.

The pavement preservation project will take place within MCDOT right-of-way and help extend the life of the roadway and improve the driving surface. During the project, one lane will be open for each direction of traffic. Please allow for extra time to travel in the area, watch for work crews, obey all traffic control signs and slow down in the work zone.
