411th Avenue and Camelback Road Headwall Repair

Project Description
The Maricopa County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will be replacing a damaged headwall on the west side of 411th Avenue south of Camelback Road in Tonopah, June 22-30, 2026.
A headwall is a retaining wall placed at the inlet or outlet of a culvert or drainage pipe. Its primary function is to anchor the pipe, prevent soil erosion, and maintain the alignment of the drainage system.
The work will consist of:
- Replacing the damaged headwall on 411th Avenue.
- Removing debris from the inlet and outlet.
- Making any necessary concrete repairs and cleaning up as needed.
Access to 411th Avenue will be maintained at all times, although drivers can expect lane and speed limit reductions in the project area. This work is expected to last approximately three weeks.
Work Schedule:
Where: 411th Avenue 1,200 feet south of Camelback Road.
When: Monday, June 22, to Tuesday, June 30, 2026.
Monday through Friday, 5 a.m. to 4 p.m.
No weekend or holiday work is anticipated.
