Sun City ADA Improvements
Project #: TT0787
Project Description
Beginning on Monday, April 6, 2026 the Maricopa County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will be making Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) improvements within county right-of-way in the Sun City area. The work will take place on select sidewalks between 111th, Peoria, 99th, and Olive avenues. The project includes upgrading ADA ramps, curbs and gutters, and installing sidewalk passing areas, when indicated. The work is expected to be done in phases based on location. Crews will move between each work zone, completing a section before moving to the next. Crews will provide door hangers to residents in affected areas as needed.
The project includes:
- Upgrading existing ADA ramps, curbs and gutters to current ADA standards.
- Constructing new sidewalk passing areas within MCDOT right-of-way, when indicated.
- Cleaning up the work zone, with related finishing work.
Street parking restrictions may be imposed to maintain traffic flow through the work zone and provide access along roadways and sidewalks during construction. Property access and sidewalk access along one side of the roadway will be maintained at all times, though brief delays may occur as equipment passes. Please watch for work crews, reduce speeds and follow all traffic control signs.
