Baseline Road, 63rd Avenue to 67th Avenue

Project Description

The Maricopa County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will be performing maintenance work on drainage facilities on Baseline Road between 63rd and 67th avenues in Laveen beginning April 20, 2026. Workers will remove and replace headwalls on Baseline Road, and repair or replace pipes where necessary.

A headwall is a retaining wall placed at the inlet or outlet of a culvert or drainage pipe. Its primary function is to anchor the pipe, prevent soil erosion, and maintain the alignment of the drainage system.

The work will consist of:

• Replacing damaged headwalls as needed.
• Removing debris from inlets and outlets.
• Repairing or replacing pipe where necessary.
• Other concrete repairs and site cleanup as needed.

Access to Baseline Road will be maintained at all times, although drivers may encounter lane closures and speed limit reductions at times in the work zone. This work is expected to take approximately two months.
