Baseline Road, 63rd Avenue to 67th Avenue

Project #: MW2613

Project Description

The Maricopa County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will be repairing and replacing headwalls on Baseline Road between 64th and 67th avenues in the Laveen area. A headwall is a retaining wall placed at the inlet or outlet of a culvert or drainage pipe. Its primary function is to anchor the pipe, prevent soil erosion, and maintain the alignment of the drainage system. Construction begins Monday, June 1st and will be underway through late July, 2026.

During construction, lane restrictions will be in place on the northern side of Baseline Road with a flagging operation, and it is advised to allow extra time for travel in the area.

The project includes:

  • Replacing damaged headwalls and safety rails as needed.
  • Removing debris from inlet and outlet.
  • Cleaning up the work zone and other miscellaneous work.

Please allow for extra time for travel as there can be delays during construction. Please watch for work crews, obey all traffic control signs and slow down in the work zone.
