Sun City Area Slurry Seal Preservation
Project #: MS2602
Project Description
Maricopa County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) crews will be completing a pavement preservation project that will help extend the life of the roadway, renew the surface, seal small cracks, and protect the road from UV rays in the Sun City area.
Drivers should plan ahead for weekday lane closures and possible delays in both directions for pavement preservation work on select roadways in Sun City beginning Monday, March 16, 2026 through early May 2026.
Roadwork is expected to be done in phases based on location. Crews will move between each work zone, completing each section before moving to the next. Crews will provide door hangers in phases in advance of the road work.
During construction, one lane will be open to traffic with a flagging operation to lead drivers through the construction zone.
Access to properties will be maintained during construction, however there may be a delay while equipment passes driveways and roads. Crews will provide access to driveways and roads as quickly as possible.
Please watch for work crews, obey all traffic control signs and slow down in the work zone. Schedule is subject to change and work may be completed earlier or extended depending on circumstances.
Project includes:
- Slurry sealing the existing roadway.
- Applying new striping and pavement markings.
- Cleaning up the work zone and other miscellaneous work.
When: March 16th, 2026, through early May 2026
Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
No weekend or holiday work is anticipated.
