Guardrail Replacement Work

Project Description

The Maricopa County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will be upgrading guardrails on both sides of Olive Avenue on the approaches to the Agua Fria River Bridge between the City of El Mirage and the Town of Youngtown. During the project, traffic will be reduced to one lane for each direction of travel, along with a shoulder closure to allow for the guardrail installation. Work is scheduled to begin on Monday, February 16, through mid-March 2026.

The project includes:

• Replacing and upgrading guardrail.
• Laying new asphaltic concrete.
• Cleaning up the work zone and other miscellaneous work.

During construction, road restrictions may be in place to accommodate work. Please watch for work crews, obey all traffic control signs and slow down in the work zone.

Work Schedule:

Where: Olive Avenue at the Aqua Fria Bridge.

When: Monday, February 16, 2026 through mid-March 2026.

Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
