Watermelon Road Storm Damage Repair

Project Description

Watermelon Road at Quilotosa Wash, located north of Gila Bend was closed due to damage resulting from recent storm events in late 2025. The Maricopa County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) rebuilt the roadway at Quilotosa Wash.

The project included:

• Removing roadway debris and materials.
• Reconstructing the roadway at the low-water crossing.
• Installing new asphalt.
• Applying pavement markings and striping.
• Cleaning up the work zone and other miscellaneous work.
