Verrado Way Bridge at Buckeye Canal
Project #: MB2601
Project Description
In order to enhance and extend the life of the roadway, the Maricopa County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) is conducting preventive maintenance on the Verrado Way bridge over the Buckeye Canal, in the unincorporated area of Liberty, east of Buckeye. Due to the construction involved, a full closure of the bridge and the roadway within the project limits is required. This bridge work and full closure of Verrado Way at the canal begins on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at 7 a.m. and is expected to last until the end of March. Detour signage will be in place to provide for alternate travel in the area using Broadway Road, Dean Road and MC85. Local traffic can continue to use Verrado Way outside of the project limits.
The project includes:
- Removing the bridge deck surface and replacing it with a new concrete surface.
- Adding an epoxy overlay to the concrete approach slabs.
- Applying new asphaltic concrete pavement.
- Cleaning up the work zone and other finishing work.
