Old US 80 north of Desert Rose Road, Irrigation Pipe Replacement

Project Description

Beginning at 6 a.m. Monday, Jan. 6, 2025, the Maricopa County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) is closing a portion of Old US 80 at the Arlington Canal, 500 feet north of Desert Rose Road, in Arlington, for approximately six weeks for removal and replacement of old irrigation pipe.

Once construction begins, Old US 80 will be closed at all hours to allow for the pipe removal and replacement work involved. Detour signage in the area will be in place to direct alternative travel in the area.

The work over the canal will consist of earthwork, subgrade preparation, pavement removal, pipe removal and installation, water pumping and headwall construction.

WORK SCHEDULE

Where: Old US 80, north of Desert Rose Road over the Arlington Canal.

When: 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday-Sunday, including weekends, holidays and some overnights.
