Cattleguard Removal and Pipe/Headwall Installation, 411th Avenue and West Thomas Road

Project #: MW2404

Project Description

The Maricopa County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) advises residents and drivers to plan ahead for temporary lane closures and possible delays in the Tonopah area on weekdays, beginning Tuesday, December 10th, 2024 through mid-December 2024 for the removal of a cattleguard at the intersection of West Thomas Road and North 411th Avenue.

The project will include:

  • Removal of cattleguard.
  • Adding a pipe under the road and a headwall on the side to help stop flooding.
  • Fill-in work with slurry and top with concrete.
  • Other miscellaneous work and cleanup.

This project will improve the roadway to fix uneven cattleguard transitions, extend pavement life, and prevent flooding from agricultural water runoff. Access to properties will be maintained during construction, however there may be a delay while equipment passes driveways and roads. Crews will provide access to driveways and roads as quickly as possible. Please watch for work crews, obey all traffic control signs and slow down in the work zone.
