Peoria Avenue, Citrus Road to SR 303

Project Description

The Maricopa County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) is designing roadway improvements for Peoria Avenue, between Cotton Lane and Citrus Road,.

The proposed improvements include:

• adding one new lane on Peoria Avenue for eastbound and westbound travel
• providing access for residential properties
• rmoving a Maricopa Water District (MWD) channel underground
• installing new curbs and sidewalks
• two traffic signals installed along Peoria Avenue, located at the intersection with Citrus Road and with Cotton Lane
• street lighting design in coordination with the City of Surprise

The rapid growth in western Maricopa County requires a concerted effort to respond to traffic needs.
